Guests Artists

Haiku Fest presented Guest Artists, including: Sajdah Muhammad, age 14 (cellist, 2015, see homepage video); Michelle Manson, age 13 (violist, 2014); Adjedmaa Ali-Landing, age 12, and J’Heannehehbelle Rosier, age 14 (2013, pianists); Camiah McNeal, age 18 (pianist, 2012); and Nzinga Barbarouse, age 18 (2011 pianist).

Guest artists in 2010 included Jihan Hines, age 16 (violin), David Richter (2010, pianist); and Charles Taylor (2009, 2010 pianist). Other guest performing artists include Liberty Temple Children’s Choir: ages 4-16, Prof. Elsa Harris, director (2008); Harris Singers: ages 10-18 (2007); and Steven Solomon, age 16 (pianist, 2006). CAMTA piano students: Inea Gregory (age 8), José Cisneros (age 14), Darious Silas (age 15); Dacia Hobson (voice) and Charles Taylor (pianist) performed in 2006.

For our inaugural awards program Mama Ann Ward, Nyambi Ingram and Roberta Ingrim directed students from Betty Shabazz International Charter School’s (bsics) Azania Drum & Dance Ensemble: Tyagyei Billington, Anthony Clark, Lonyae Collins, Joshua Hall, Taiwo Hampton, Kweli Garbutt, Jasmine Green, Kehinde Hampton, DeAndre Huff, Erica Ingram, Jendayi Ingram, Subira Mitchell, Dionne Smith, Khadija Williams, and Mi’kail Wingard in 2005.
